Who We Are: The Powerhouse Mentoring Program
Sue Thoroughman comes to mentoring with a history of twenty-five years in social services. Her work has ranged from adoption, to information and referral, volunteer management, grief and loss, counseling, training and sociological research. She is glad to be here!
Maria Hein is the Powerhouse Program Manager. She has an MS in Human Development and over 25 years experience in social services, volunteer program management, information and referral, and adult education. She loves watching youth develop new friends and new skills.
The Inn, Inc.
The Inn, Inc. is the parent agency of The Powerhouse Mentoring Program. It is a non-profit agency incorporated in Oregon in 1969. It currently provides an array of services to adolescents in foster care including a group home, the Multnomah County Independent Living Program, The Powerhouse Mentoring Program, and others. The Executive Director is Thomas Mitchell, Ed. D.
The Powerhouse Advisory Board
As a program of The Inn, Inc., Powerhouse operates under the guidance of the Board of Directors of the agency. However, Powerhouse has assembled an Advisory Board that provides direction in areas of policy and procedure. Current members include:
