What our mentors say: “Being a mentor has become more rewarding than I imagined. I look forward to our meetings each week.”
“M is now realizing she doesn’t want to follow in her older sisters’ foot steps of being pregnant by age 19. She now talks about having a job and wanting to get married later on in life.”
“S knows she can talk to me about anything and does, and I try to be a good listener, and help her generate her own solutions.”
“She is learning to set goals and ‘stretch her wings’ a little and I am confident that she will experience many successes (like the decision to finish high school). Somehow, however, I think that my job with her is really just beginning…”
